Favorite Game Trailers?

Before I start a new game, I like to go to Youtube and watch the launch trailer for it. It got me thinking about some of my all time favorite trailers for games. Whether the game turned out good or not, some times the trailer is amazing. Here a couple of my favorite trailers, I have several more of course but what are some others?

This launch trailer for Mass Effect 3 built so much hype and excitement for me. The music, the one liners from Garrus, Shepherd, and Liara especially at the ending her saying "this is it, isn't it?" so fitting for the ending of the trilogy, it still is one of my most favorite trailers of all time


The Tales of Xillia launch trailer had tons going for it. Introducing you to the leads Jude and Milla. Then building up pieces of the story, with flashes of several of the characters and villains. All the while having some amazing music to build the hype. Every time I watch this trailer it makes me want to play it again. It's that good. I picked up the collector's edition of it on launch day. I am still angry to this day that is never gotten a remaster on a newer console. It's just stuck on the PS3.
Also pretty cool fact that Lightning's VA - Ali Hillis, does the English voice dub for Presa. Something she is not credited with on her Wikipedia page.


Also adding Batman Arkham Origins. This trailer was dark and gritty, just like the Arkham games. The music here is another knockout. Perfectly building tension between Black Mask and Batman. Excellent blending of cinematics with flashes of gameplay. This is probably my favorite of the Arkham trailers.

So cunt, so hype, and then it was all downhill from there.

I've always loved this Halo 3 trailer.

The best trailer, in my opinion. Also, it is still one of the best looter-shooter games of the past decade.

That genuinely made me want to go back and replay that DLC.

Easily some of my favorites from recent memory. Seriously, whoever is in charge of working on trailers for From Software games needs a raise. The blend of actual gameplay and cutscenes synced often to the soundtrack is what I think makes them so amazing in my eyes. I went from not really caring all that much about Armored Core VI about a year ago, to now being incredibly hyped for when it launches in a month.

Never played any of the Armored Core series but this trailer makes me want to try them. Armored Core VI is definitely on my wish list.

I still love the E3 trailer for Breath of the Wild. Getting the expansive view of the world, seeing some of what you can do and that music swell gets me every time.

The music and voiceovers from this really stayed with me. Shame that it never happened.


Seeing the glimpses of Mickey and Organization XIII here really made me excited for the release.

I'm a sucker for a good trailer (not just game trailer) regardless how the actual product turns out.

The Gothic Armada trailers are just too epic.





These classics are more like intros but are still really good.





These ones are really cool too, for various reasons.











The launch trailer for Styx: Master of Shadows might just be my favorite, it may be fairly simple compared to the above ones, but something about the vibes gets me every time.

That's a fantastic trailer

Hitman 2015 has probably the best trailer I think I've ever seen for a game. Unfortunately what I mean to say is it's the one they showed exclusively at Sony's E3 2015 Conference that year and not the extended announcement trailer with a bunch of new shots which is the only version available. The shortened version is perfection, the editing is completely flawless, the choice of music stunning, the escalation of each of these assassinations with the heavy breathing and the thumping dark techno music made such a huge impression on me of how good game trailers can be. The extended announcement trailer I feel ruins the momentum and flow by adding shit to it but maybe that's just me. You can still see the trailer I prefer in Sony's conference which is still uploaded.

I really liked this when it came out.

This trailer of MGS5 is one I still recall to this day. I don't watch trailers anymore but this one was incredible, I used to be a big MGS fan back in 2015 even if now I am lukewarm on the series. This trailer did make Skull Face seem like a better and more calculating villain than he ultimately ended up being, I do like MGS5 for it's gameplay and the story isn't the hyped up pile of crap that fanboys make it out to be but Skull Face in GZ and this trailer was a lot more reserved and mysterious compared to TPP. "LUST FOR REVENGE WHOOOO" is still great though:

I never liked these kind of games at all, however the trailers are another story.
