Macht erneutes Durchspielen sehr viel casualiger :D

The THPS3 is perfect, no notes, while I'm conflicted on the THPS4 changes. There were some annoying goals to hit, while the openness of the levels conflicted with the 2 minute timer. I ended up bumping it to 60 for that section. It was fine but still felt at odds. New levels rocked, would love to see this team work on an all-new game. I'll probably grab this on PS5 once its cheap enough.Updated 1 Month Ago

Game plays great and parks are fun but the complete package is ruined from a death by 1000 cuts. Notably the neutering of THPS4 campaign and the ugly corpo Californication presentation. It is fun but the sauce from the OG games are gone.6.5/10

3 remake is awesome. 4 remake feels more like an reimagination, still solid but dissapointing to see one of the best levels turned into a competition. I didn't care for the new level too. Didn't complete the pro goals yet, just the base game (and the game itself called, so I consider it done). Dissapointing to not have most of the original soundtrack back, but there are some cool new tracks. This feels like a huge DLC for 1+2, the graphics don't look different at all, neither do the gameplay (but the gameplay was perfect that was, so no need to change that). Even with the objections and 1+2 being better, still had lot of fun. Let's hope they do Underground now.Updated 1 Month Ago

Tony Hawk 4 is my favorite in the series so this release is pretty disappointing for me. That being said, the levels from 4 are still fun to skate around even if a lot of content has been cut. 3's part in the remaster is pretty solid for the most part. I miss the old secret characters, but it's no surprise that Activision wouldn't try to hard to get them. The biggest disappointment is the soundtrack. Like, what the hell were they thinking? I guess the first remaster's soundtrack should be appreciated since Activision didn't bother to do the same for 3+4's.
That being said the gameplay here is intact and still really fun. I just wish this release wasn't so obviously a lower budget one compared to the first.
Final score 6.5/10

THPS3+4 was the 1st game in a long time that I was excited for it's launch and counted down the days. I spent countless hours of my childhood playing THPS3, when I first got my PS2, which led me to play all of its sequels up to and including Project 8. I love this series and after having had a blast with the remake of 1 & 2 my excitement levels truly peaked to play the game which started a love affair with the series, music and culture that surrounded it in the early 00's.You always remember graphics better than they were, so when loading into foundry for the first time it looked exactly as I remembered. A wave of nostalgic joy swept over me and I couldn't help but grin. This was the single moment of the game which I couldn't top.
The feel and mechanics are almost identical to the 1&2 remake which is pleasing as that game felt tight as hell. Movement feels smooth, combos are rewarding and the SFX are satisfying.
The soundtrack has been changed up from the originals which I didn't mind to start with but once further into my playtime did start to become a sore miss. It did create a buzz however when a classic came up on rotation. Conversely, shout out for the inclusions of Kick push, Them bones and Boys in the better land. All great additions.
The edgy spark of the games has been dialled back. This is understandable considering the degenerate and misogynistic culture that surrounded the times however it does remove a lot of personality, especially in THPS4. Also, the secret skaters are not a patch on the originals!
I played through completing all goals, and then pro goals. These were a good time and for the best part pretty intuitive. The 2 minute timer does feel outdated and frustrating at times. As does certain objectives where you need enough stat points to achieve, e.g. air, speed. I get the idea is to progress on and come back but I was hell bent on 100%ing each level in order.
Some of the pro goals are a bit tedious and begin to diminish the fun. It doesn't help that you automatically skate forward at all times so when trying to stop and line yourself up perfectly for a run, your character is fighting against you.
I'm sure I'll come back and complete all the Got Theres and Gaps over time. It's a chill nostalgic experience which I feel I'll dip in and out of over the years when I want to unwind. Although the levels mean more to me in this game, I think THPS 1&2 remake is superior. I can't put my finger on why and the gap isn't big. Maybe it's the music? But I will always make time to play THPS games and am praying they make more in the future.

Really great Tony Hawk game, although I expected career mode to be present for THPS4...It's basically the same game as THPS1+2 was so if you liked it you will like this as well.

I had a great time with this remaster. I wish THPS 4 would have came back more in it's original form but I still enjoyed playing through all those levels again. I appreciated the new levels and felt like the overall package had a nice level of polish throughout. I missed the omitted songs from the original playlists but also was digging the new ones they added so it felt like an equal trade, and left some reasons to go back and play the OGs again some day.Updated 1.5 Months Ago

A modern remake like 1+2, which remains remarkably familiar. The old gameplay with refinements from the later games, such as trick modifiers and quarter pipe transfers. The missing music obviously caused upset. Instead of Alien Ant Farm, you have Tony himself singing karaoke to a Jam song.THPS3 was nailed and in the same way as 1+2, it’s a perfect representation of the original.
THPS4 has the timed goal format bolted on to the free roam maps. The new maps are a lot of fun, but overall, the “classic” format doesn’t flow well on the old levels. Having never played the original it at least felt new to me.
It didn’t hit the heights of THPS 1+2 but if you’re a fan, you won’t regret playing 3+4. I finished all career goals and collectibles, then replayed both games for the pro goals. A decent 17hrs but not one I’d go back and platinum.

This is such a hard game to review as Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 is one of my favorite games as a kid. I played that game so much and it was the first in the series that I played and I ended up playing most games in the series after that. The transition in style from 3 to 4 always made me dislike the game a bit more but there were still some awesome levels. This remaster fixes those issues that I had back in the day, but does it make the game better? For all intents and purposes this game is better than the originals. Visually better and introduction of new modes like the speedrun mode which is a mode I always wish I had in the original. The only thing missing is some of the music. I don’t hate the new tracks but I have so much nostalgia for the old tracks it just makes it hard to compare. Every time an old track would come on, I would get so hyped.
Grinding and comboing are just as fun as before. Figuring out objectives and puzzling out the solutions is just great. Finding a line where you can stack up a big combo feels so good when you finally hit it. My biggest issue with the game is I can never hit the sick scores in most of the later levels because I am incredibly bad at these games. I have never been great and I don’t know how to revert or do any flip tricks, I just grind. My inability to get better hinders how much I can like the game but this really is a self-made issue.
I beat all the levels but didn’t get all the score-based goals. I still want to go back and do the speedruns but I’ll have to figure out how to play the game. Its still just great fun but I don’t know how long it will keep someone’s attention given you can get every level in a matter of hours. 8/10

Well, this was a surprise.I'm quite familiar with the THPS (and non-Pro Skater) games since the early 2000s. I revisited the remake of the first two titles around two years ago (Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, by the legendary Vicarious Visions), and not long after that, I beat THPS3 and THPS4 on the PS2, as well as THAW, another classic from my childhood that I just had to finish.
After the THPS 3 + 4 remake was seemingly shelved due to VV’s merger with Blizzard and eventual dissolution, I honestly didn’t expect to ever see "the other half" of the classic THPS games remade. So when it was announced that Iron Galaxy would be developing THPS 3 + 4, I was cautiously optimistic.
At first, I was skeptical, and rightfully so. This was a new studio stepping in to create a sequel to both an extremely well-received remake and one developed by a very talented team. But in the end, it’s honestly impressive how THPS 3 + 4 aligns with THPS 1 + 2. It's hard to believe it was made by a completely different developer, and Iron Galaxy deserves real praise for nailing the feel and style so well.
The THPS 3 maps feel pretty much intact, just modernized visually and mechanically. THPS 4, however, takes more creative liberties. The biggest change is that it’s no longer a semi-open-world game with NPCs and all, but honestly, that particular shift didn’t bother me much.
What did bother me were the parts where the game strayed too far. THPS 3 stays relatively faithful to the original, but THPS 4 ends up feeling more like a loose reinterpretation. Several original levels - like Chicago, Carnival, and two others - were completely cut. In their place, we get entirely new maps under the THPS 4 label, which makes little sense. Also, Zoo and Kona are now competition maps instead of regular levels with their own goals. The three new maps are okay, but I personally prefer the originals.
Another disappointment is the soundtrack. While THPS 1 + 2 included most of the original songs along with some solid additions, THPS 3 + 4 features only a handful of the classics and leans heavily on new artists and tracks. It’s not bad, but it makes this feel more like a reimagining than a true remake in places, which is a bit of a letdown compared to Vicarious Visions’ incredibly faithful approach.
That said, the game still feels very authentic when compared to the THPS 1 + 2 remake. The gameplay, art style, and overall presentation are consistent - though this one is maybe a bit too colorful at times. Still, it’s a solid continuation, even if THPS 4 feels more loosely adapted than faithfully remade.
Conclusion:
was originally thinking of giving this a 7.5, considering the omissions and changes - but that wouldn’t be fair. This is a completely different developer, and they’ve done an impressive job creating a sequel that’s so in sync with the previous remake. It’s definitely a solid 8/10.
